It made me smile to think of eating that without the blender! :)Tarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01743874612081338662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3308505369262407627.post-16312679131095226082012-07-17T15:25:56.892-07:002012-07-17T15:25:56.892-07:00I should learn to proof read my comments before su...I should learn to proof read my comments before submitting them. We have chickens on our farm so eggs are pretty much every morning. My hubby likes meat with his eggs, so if i'm in a hurry- I'll make bacon in the oven. I line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and then put the bacon on a single layer. put it in the oven at 400 degrees till its the desired crispiness. I can then go and shower, dress or get kids up. Granola is a great make ahead breakfast, also very easy to make and even my 10 year old can make it with little supervision. We eat it a lot at snack time as well. Another thing I like for breakfast with a muffin or homemade bread, is a smoothie- I keep bananas frozen in the freezer. Add a frozen banana (break it in chunks) 1/3 cup raw milk, 1/4 cup plain or vanilla yogurt, a splash of vanilla and a tablespoon of flax oil. No sugar necessary and the frozen banana thickens the milk so its almost an icecream consistencany. So good! The Little Red Henhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02770419007424881423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3308505369262407627.post-21042075109448011822012-07-17T08:59:59.761-07:002012-07-17T08:59:59.761-07:00Breakfast foods are definitely one of the hardest ...Breakfast foods are definitely one of the hardest areas to transition into real foods because mornings are usually more hurried and hectic than evenings. I used to eat nothing but cereal in the mornings, but now that I'm trying to eat real foods, I have an egg every morning and I started making my own homemade frozen waffles using this amazing recipe from Our Nourishing Roots:

http://www.ournourishingroots.com/chocolate-chip-buttermilk-waffles-with-blackberry-syrup/

Like you said, they take a little more time one day, but then you have a delicious, quick breakfast ready any time you want.Lori https://www.blogger.com/profile/04470463053505955034noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3308505369262407627.post-41162941713850724392012-07-16T15:57:48.251-07:002012-07-16T15:57:48.251-07:00One more recipe -- Delicious Coconut Granola! One more recipe -- Delicious Coconut Granola!busymomof10https://www.blogger.com/profile/16801397516931688515noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3308505369262407627.post-32799632654485474972012-07-16T15:38:18.367-07:002012-07-16T15:38:18.367-07:00Willing to try some creamy southern grits with you...Willing to try some creamy southern grits with your eggs? ;)busymomof10https://www.blogger.com/profile/16801397516931688515noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3308505369262407627.post-23733058052652260222012-07-16T15:36:33.886-07:002012-07-16T15:36:33.886-07:00Great post! I've been reading about the Paleo way to eat and this kinda ties in with that. I make ahead meats and put them in the fridge to be easily warmed up (breakfast sausage and bacon from our pastured pig or burgers from our grass fed cow). I also make homemade yogurt. I find the trick to nice thick yogurt is to strain the whey off, which also makes it low carb too! I posted my recipe http://wp.me/p2mAyv-74Trishahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09636372129903855752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3308505369262407627.post-19457505470202850452012-07-16T06:14:17.976-07:002012-07-16T06:14:17.976-07:00Thanks for hosting! Thanks for hosting!Athena @ Lifes Abundant Adventureshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15620291179069058408noreply@blogger.com
